Here you are my very dear long waited friends ! It gives me great pleasure to extend to you all a very warm welcome. My name is Zineb Dardafaa and I am honoured and privileged to present myself today as Deputy of the Secretary General of Andre Malraux first special United Nations simulation: AMMUN. Featuring debate simulations, invigorating discussions, AMMUN is the opportunity for you, us, world’s future leaders to engage with one another, renew contacts, and discuss a myriad of pertinent global issues because as young men and women, we hold the keys to the future in our hands. I am looking forward to the day when this project we've worked so hard for will finally take place, the day when I’ll finally get to meet each single one of you and the day when we will write, together, the first chapter of AMMUN's story. Please, feel free to contact me or to pursue browsing our website for more information. Let’s make this conference an unforgettable one !
TAREK HACHAD
Dear participants, My name is Tarek Hachad, I’m a 17-year-old Moroccan senior and am honoured to be one of the two AMMUN 2019’s Deputies Secretary General. I am very pleased to share with you all my experience in terms of MUNs. Indeed, I have attended three different conferences as a delegate. The first one I’ve participated in is called MAMUN. It takes place every year in the beautiful city of Rabat and is known for being one of the most valuable and skilled moroccan MUN. This experience as a «rookie» delegate made of the young 10th grader I was a grown teenager passioned by the United Nation’s immortal values. I took part twice in this conference, first in the ethics committee, and the other in the prestigious Security Council, in which I represented India, which was in the heart of one of the two topics. After that first step in the «MUN world» comes the second model I attended to, called Beatriz Galindo MUN, taking place in Madrid, Spain. That conference was quite different from the first one : less strict, but as much instructive as the other. Therefore, that second conference as a delegate helped me facilitate my learning in the art of debating, and I think the word art is the perfect one to use. Indeed, I quickly realised that debating is not something people innately have, but is an art you learn through experience and nothing else. Organising such a conference became therefore one of my goals, in order to give students from all over the world the opportunity to gain more and more experience, over and above culture sharing, and of course entertainment. My dream then became true, thanks to the determination of this conference’s Secretary General, who is now more a friend than a colleague and with whom I hope to achieve great things in the future. Setting up such an event is no easy task, but thanks to the efforts made by the Presidency and the whole Organizing Committee, this intangible dream became a reality. My only hope right now is that this first international edition of AMMUN will be a solid first stone to a magnificent monument. To first-timers, make of this event the first sign of the path guiding you to success. I believe in the future of this conference, and know it will one day become the most valuable moroccan and why not African MUN. Thank you, and I hope you will all enjoy your time with us.
