Greetings delegates, My name is Lina Bachouchi, I am a senior at André Malraux International High School, and for this First Edition of AMMUN, I am honoured to be chairing the Security Council. Ever since I started my MUN journey two years ago, I attended a total of 8 MUN conferences, as a delegate, ambassador, Chair, and Deputy Secretary General, amassing many certificates of my achievements along the way. The Security Council has always been one of my favorite Committees, along with the Special Political and the ICJ. The primary focus of the Security Council is to maintain international peace and security, which leads to fruitful debates between delegates who represent different countries. The Security Council is the Committee that, in my opinion, has the most heated debates; I therefore hope you will all enjoy debating ongoing world issues, as much as I did in this Committee. Thus,it is my upmost pleasure to be chairing the Security Council and share this fulfilling experience with all of you. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions: [email protected].
LYLIA BELRHITI ALAOUI Co-Chair
Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and welcome to the First International Edition of the AMMUN ! My name is Lylia Belrhiti Alaoui, and I am glad to be the Co-Chair of this year’s Security Council, committee where major decisions will be taken by our delegates to solve significant problems around the world. If I had to describe MUNs in one word, I would use the word Learning, because this is what it’s all about. Learning to debate, Learning to face real life issues, Learning to write resolutions, to work in groups, to change positions, to practice foreign languages, to make allies… I am a very competitive person and this is why I always give all I got during the debates. I have taken part in many conferences and simulations, including the BGMUN, in which I put the most effort. I couldn't fly all the way to Spain not to get the Best Delegate award, right? Wrong! I did get the award but please delegates, do not forget that being elected Best Delegate is really not the most important point of a conference. This is not my most important victory. My victory are the friends I met and the knowledge I gained. It’s all about Learning. And I learned. And today I am here to share with all of you what I learned during all the awesome experiences I had the luck to take part in. I sincerely hope I can help you learn too, because from many points of view, at school, with my family or even during travels, what I learned in Model United Nations changed my life. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
